Melbourne’s largest Greek street party, the Lonsdale Street Festival, is set to share the love this year when international performers Dimitris Basis and Zoi Papadopoulou take to the main stage on Valentines night, Saturday 14 February.
The Festival is honoured to host these two performers who will bring the street alive with a mix of popular and traditional Greek music. Dimitris Basis has performed with some of Greece’s premium musicians and as a regular singer with the Mikis Theodorakis Orchestra. With a career spanning 25 years, Basis will perform some of his greatest hits along with popular Greek classics.
He will be joined on stage by Zoi Papadopoulou, who has collaborated with some of Greece’s highest profile performers in addition to releasing two albums in her unique contemporary style.
Dimitris Basis performs Mikis Theodorakis’ “Tis Dikeosinis Ilie” with the Greek National Symphony Orhestra at the majestic Odeon of Herodes Atticus on the slopes of the Acropolis, Athens.
