A favourite amongst foodies, the Procal Greek Kitchen returns to the 31st Lonsdale Street Greek Festival with a stellar two-day program of mouthwatering mediterranean fare from some of Melboune’s best Greek chefs and cooks.

Hosted by Vikki Moursellas (one half of MKR’s Greek twins), the Procal Greek Kitchen will get your tastebuds watering with sweet and savoury delicacies and Greek cooking tips for both confident and budding foodies.





12:00pm | Mary Valle
Mary’s Kitchen, author of My Greek KitchenMy Mediterranean Kitchen and Everyday Mediterranean

Born to Greek parents, Mary grew up surrounded by tradition and a love of food.  A love of travel, a rich Greek heritage and great skill in the kitchen has seen the Melbourne-based cook become one of Australia’s most-respected authorities on Mediterranean cuisine.  She teaches Mediterranean style cooking in Melbourne, sharing her passion and love for food with others, and runs culinary tours of Greece.



1:15pm | Spiri Tzintziras
The Tribal Tomato, author of Afternoons in Ithaka and My Ikaria

Spiri is the author of several books including the food memoirs My Ikaria (out April 2018) and Afternoons in Ithaka. She teaches professional writing at Swinburne University and runs the communications business Writing Spirit. When she is not writing and teaching, she might be found cooking, eating and dancing.



2:30pm | Jack Sotti
Boilermaker House

Jack Sotti is the general manager of Boilermaker House and the recipient of Australian Bartender of the Year 2015. The London native is taking inspiration from his Cypriot roots and will prepare a selection of creative cocktails with a Greek flare. 




3:15pm | Vikki Moursellas
Vikki and Helena, author of Taking You Home: Simply Greek Food

Helena was born in South Australia and learnt her tricks of the trade from her Greek grandmother. Growing up in a Greek family has given her the passion and love for Mediterranean food. Together with identical twin sister Helena she was a 2014 finalist on Channel 7’s My Kitchen RulesIn February 2015 the twins published Taking You Home: Simply Greek Food and currently run monthly cooking workshops in NSW.

Oasis Greek Coffee

Oasis wants you to #bringbackthebriki with a Greek coffee-making workshop that will have you creating the perfect cup and ‘kaimaki’ (crema) to impress your family and friends with and serve alongside a Greek sweet or two!




5:15pm | My Baklava is Better Than Yours

We’re on the hunt for Melbourne’s best baklava! Applicants will submit a tray of their finest – open to their interpretation and creativity – to be judged by the likes of some of Melbourne’s best Greek cooks and industry professionals. Come and watch our finalists battle it out onstage for the inaugural title!

Gertrude Street Enoteca

Ella Mittas is an Australian chef and food writer. Focusing on Greek food, she has recently curated a pop-up restaurant, Ela Melbourne, at the Gertrude Street Enoteca, that focused on showcasing regional Greek cuisine and wine.




1:15pm | Kathy Tsaples
Sweet Greek

Kathy is the ‘Godmother of Greek Cuisine’. She founded and cooks with love for her Sweet Greek shop at Prahran Market and is the author of two highly acclaimed cookbooks: Sweet Greek and Sweet Greek Life.



2:30pm | Phil Vakos
Bahari, The Gringlish Co.

Phil Vakos shot to fame a few years back through his time on Masterchef, and has since developed quite a name for himself both as a Chef and Restaurateur. Currently owner and operator at Bahari | The Hellenic Palate in Richmond, and recently providing catering via The Gringlish Co – Phil uses his creativity to represent Greek food in a new light while paying respect to traditional flavours.



4:30pm | Angela Nicolettou
Angela’s Kitchen

For the past ten years, Angela has been leading cooking classes on traditional Greek cooking techniques such as filo pastry and regional foods that showcase the Mediterranean diet. Angela’s Kitchen Cooking School is in Northcote; classes are small, hands on and where possible use ingredients that are organic and sustainable.
